This year I actually read the book “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, something I’ve been meaning to do for years.
First of all, it is a great read that I would recommend for anyone. And it’s just over 100 pages, so it’s short.
Second, I was struck by the similarities of Victorian London and modern day. It is well documented that Dickens felt a strong need to comment on the enormous gap between the rich and poor in Victorian Britain in this book.
This timeless story was published in 1843, yet it still hold relevance in today’s growing economic gap between the “haves” and the “have-nots.”
Read and see if it strikes a chord with you. And it will really get you in the Christmas spirit!

My personal favorite version of “A Christmas Carol” is a musical called “Scrooge” from 1970 staring Albert Finney. Here’s the big finale. Enjoy:
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year to everyone!
